Rare Alaska Native Art

This Alaska Native art is a real conversation piece. It is a fossilized walrus penile bone, called an Oosik. Please look at the Ode to an Oosik poem. This Oosik is 19½ inches long.

This amazing piece is a fossilized eardrum from a Bowhead Whale. It was hand scrimshawed. It is 3½ inches tall and 5½ inches wide.

This sailboat is handmade out of whale baleen by Lane Iyakitau of Nome, Alaska. It measures 8½ inches long and 8¼ inches tall.

This is a genuine seal claw that has been capped with fresh walrus ivory and baleen. The beads are made of fossilized Woolly Mammoth ivory and measure 24 inches long. The claw and cap are 2 inches long.

These claws are capped with baleen then ivory, or ivory then baleen. Each claw is different, and they average 2 inches in length. If ordering more than one please write first to check availability.

This is a hand carved totemic designed smoking pipe. It is very interesting piece at 5 inches in length, sure to be a conversation piece.

This is an incredibly well carved, genuine fossilized Walrus ivory Eagle knife. It is carved on both sides and comes in a genuine leather sheath with a fitted wooden display stand. The stainless steel blade is 10½ inches long, but the overall length of this knife is 18 inches.

Hand crafted Kwakiutl Raven Homatsa mask. It was made by Kingcove Inlet, B.C. artist, Alfred Robertson. It has a moveable lower jaw and beautiful cedar bark hair. It is 10 inches high, 6 inches wide, 19 inches long plus the height the stand offers.

Kwakiutl Warriors helmet by Michelle Foley. Completely hand carved with hand pounded copper accents and cedar bark hair. This helmet has an overall length of 16 inches and is signed by Michelle.

Hand carved Halibut dish by Susie Bellesie of Canada. This dish is 14¾ inches long, 7½ inches wide and signed by the artist.

Kwakiutl Chiefs Rattle was made in 1986 by Andy Louis. This is the totemic whale. It is 10¾ inches long with a diameter of 4 inches and is signed by the artist.

Amazing hand crafted, genuine seal skin teddy bear, measures 12 inches tall. Another great example of fine Alaska Native art. No artist information is available on this piece.

This gorgeous spirit board was carved by Alissa Raub. With the totemic owl and frog it measures 24 inches tall, 14¾ inches wide and is signed by the artist.
